CalcBuilder Tutorial

Click a calculator’s name to open Calculator configuration. The toolbar holds the sub-editors (Form Fields, PHP Code, JS Code, Sections, Form Layout, Exit Layout, Spreadsheet, Print Preferences); the body has three tabs.

Main tab

• Name — internal name of the calculator.
• Info — a note for editors.
• Pre-form HTML — free HTML rendered above the input form (an introduction, an image, instructions).

Preferences tab

• Calculate button text and whether to calculate on load (show a result immediately with the default values).
• Number formatting — thousand and decimal separators, date format.
• Result behaviour — show inline, in a pop-up, with an animation; whether the input form and/or the result are included in e-mails and PDFs.
• File upload defaults — allowed extensions, size, destination folder, max number of files.
• Front-end buttons — allow the visitor to e-mail or print/PDF the result.

Email tab

Configure the message sent when a visitor submits the calculator or asks for the result by e-mail: recipient(s), CC/BCC, subject (with ##variable## placeholders), body, and whether to attach the generated PDF. There is also an optional Mailchimp block to add the visitor’s address to a list.
