user permissions

User Franky466 2025-06-08 11:32:15

A new question.
Sorry for always comparing it to Joomla 3, but I've been working successfully with it for years.
It's about user permissions. In Joomla 3, you could assign different permissions for each list. This doesn't seem to be possible in the current version of List Manager. Do I really need to create different table/list configurations for different user groups?

Hi,
right, the 'internal' section of user permissions has been removed, because for setting ACL settings users preferred to configure using the default Joomla ACL or any other extension for handling custom permissions they may have.

So, once you have your list configured, you can just select it from the main lists page, select 'copy', and change the settings of this new instance accordingly (for ex, removing the edition rights). That way you can publish each instance for the right user group using default Joomla options.
