Hi,
you are surely dealing with any conflict at your site, or any missconfiguration at the component backend causing an error at initialization. If you place a ticket at the helpdesk and share your url we'll debug your site and let you know the origin and solution to your issue. About the 'easy steps', the component backend is open to test at our demo site, your backend should have exactly the same options as it's the default extension release you will see working there. You can ask for help about any of the functions here at the forum or using your private helpdesk.
