Optional User ID field - Selection is forced when editing record from back-end 08.04.2014 17:23
My list includes a USERID field type which is set to OPTIONAL... If I edit the data at the back-end, it pre-populates the USERID field with the first user in my Joomla Users... and so if I save the record, that's what it accepts.. There's no way I can leave that field blank - I can select any other user... but there are many instances when I want it to stay unassociated with a user.
So this looks like a little bug?

Hi,
there's no way to leave an option list 'unselected', comboboxes select the first option of the list if user doesn't interact on the field. You can create an additional option (for this case, user), with name 'blank' or '--no user assigned--' to choose if you don't want to select any other option of the list.
